The Pencil

Slim and sleek,
Fresh yet meek
In the face of its large universe of clutter.

Suddenly, the sky is ripped apart,
And into the heart
of his dark world is thrown light!

He is seized, and thrust into a large device,
Where he is held like an iron vice,
And is slashed and cut,
And then he is thrust
Back into his pit of darkness.
excerpt from the 7th grade writing journal of Philip Pledger, page one (OdaNobonaga to you deviants)

What is this poem talking about? A pencil that is sharpened then thrown back in the pen carrier?
